Baby Dominic is here and EARLY!

I won't be posting to this blog for an undetermined amount of time. My baby boy decided to come 18 days early. He and I are doing well but need to get much rest. What a wonderful Mother's Day present!

Another "Pooh" Card

I came up with another thank you card for all the shower gifts that our new baby, Dominic, has been blessed with. We have such wonderful family and friends. He has just about all the necessities he'll be needing and we're so grateful to everyone!

We love Winnie the Pooh and we hope that Dominic will too. I highly recommend reading The World of Pooh: The Complete Winnie-the-Pooh and The House At Pooh Corner by A.A. Milne. I read it with my 8yo daughter last year and we both loved it! It's much funnier than the cartoons that I grew up with.
  • stamps: Daisy Crazy
  • inks: basic black, brilliant blue
  • cs: bashful blue, white, brilliant blue, more mustard
  • accessories: cuttlebug (traffic jam, Pooh image), nestabilities, paper piercer, large and small oval punches, light blue gingham ribbon

Gift Card Holder

I was inspired by Julie's tutorial found on her blog Paper Pleasing Ideas. She made it look so easy so I tried it and it was. She also has a video tutorial for Cuttlebug Ink Embossing which I used to make the base of the card.

  • stamps: Spring Garden, Whimsical Blossom (wheel), So Many Scallops
  • ink: old olive, rose romance, basic black
  • cs: old olive, rose romance, white
  • accessories: cuttlebug (stylized flowers); 1 1/4, 1 3/8, 3/4, word window and slit punches

Quick Birthday Card

Here's a really quick card I made in just minutes for my niece who loves the color green. I just had to add a bit of pink to make it more feminine. I used some scraps of cs that I had on hand and added some jewel flowers that I found in Target's dollar bins.
  • stamps: Think Happy Thoughts, Canvas
  • ink: basic black, old olive
  • cs: white, old olive, pretty in pink, basic black
  • accessories: cuttlebug, brad, jewel flowers, scallop punch, 1 3/8 & 1 1/4 circle punches, black gingham ribbon

"Pooh" Thank You Card

A few weeks ago we found out that we're having a boy! That makes our family even--we'll have 2 boys and 2 girls. Our oldest son will be turning 20 in a couple of weeks and we have daughters who are 18 and 8. What a spread!

Since our baby is coming soon I thought that I'd better start making some thank you cards. I like the "Pooh" theme for him. I was so glad to find a Cuttlebug embossing and cutting plate at Happy Scrappin Scrapbooking. I've also been wanting to try the Suspension Card Tutorial that I saw on SCS. Combine the two and here's our thank you card. Now to find time to make about a dozen or so more.
  • stamps: Happy Hearts, Think Happy Thoughts
  • ink: bashful blue, more mustard
  • cs: bashful blue, white, brilliant blue, more mustard
  • accessories: cuttlebug, white gel pen, paper piercer, 1 3/8 & 1 1/4 hole punches, floss, basic black marker, light blue gingham ribbon

Simple Valentine Card

My 8yo daughter is in a playgroup which had a Valentine's card exchange. I taught her how to make 11 of these cards over the weekend. She did a great job and had fun too.

  • ink: basic black, pretty in pink, real red
  • cs: white, pretty in pink, real red, certainly celery
  • accessories: cuttlebug, pink gingham ribbon from Michael's, small heart punch, colored pencils
